Mehcanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) in a building

Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing, commonly known as MEP system is one of the main systems of a building and acts as the nerve system for a building.


Plumbing network of a building mainly  consists of Hot and Cold water system, Sewer and Waste water system and Rainwater system.

Fire Protection network of a building consists of Fire Hydrant System,  Hose Reel system, Sprinkler system, and Fire suppression system.  Fire Detection system could be either Addressable or Conventional.

Power distribution and Lighting are the main systems of a Low Voltage Electrical system and networks such as MATV, CCTV, PABX and PA systems come under Extra Low Voltage system.

Other than the Air Conditioning, other kinds of systems such as Car Park Ventilation, Toilet Exhaust, Fire Staircase Pressurization,  Kitchen Ventilation and other Smoke extraction systems come under the scope of MVAC system of a building.

Swimming Pools are provided as a recreational facility in a building and Water Features are constructed for beautification purpose.

Central Gas network supplies LPG mainly for cooking purpose. Gas detectors are generally installed in Kitchens to detect any Gas leakages.
